Tamara Bushell
Tamara is a Senior Mental Health Occupational Therapist who specialises in the treatment of children, adolescent and youth mental health difficulties. She has extensive mental health experience across metropolitan, regional, and remote Western Australia. Tamara has worked in a variety of settings including both public and private health services with children and adolescents with a range of difficulties. She is a skilled individual and group therapist who has experience working with families and young people with complex mental health difficulties. Tamara has worked extensively with primary and secondary schools across the state providing consultancy services, training and one to one support to education staff to assist their students.
Tamara has a passion for working together with children adolescents, parents, families and schools to build stronger connections, emotional understanding, communication, school attendance and reduction of negative behaviors. She provides a gentle, warm and supportive environment and focuses on developing trust and safety using a client centered approach to therapy. Tamara uses a range of psychotherapy approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, DBT for emotional regulation, sensory modulation and specialised treatments for a range of difficulties.
She utilises a creative approach to therapy and treatment is individualised to best suit a client or families' needs.
