Mental Health
At Untangled Therapy and Training, we have a comprehensive individual therapy service. If you're worried about your child's emotional and social wellbeing or behaviour, our child and adolescent mental health staff will provide assessment, counselling and/ or psychotherapy as well as an individual support plan for each family. Case management and care coordination services are also available as required. We offer one to one child, adolescent and family sessions in addition to working with schools to help manage and improve the difficulties a young person is having in the school setting.

ENDORSED MENTAL HEALTH OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST
Endorsed Mental Health Occupational Therapists are registered providers with Medicare Australia. They have been assessed on behalf of the Commonwealth Government by Occupational Therapy Australia (OTA) as having specialist mental health expertise. An Endorsed Mental Health Occupational Therapist is eligible to provide services through the Commonwealth-funded Better Access to Mental Health Care and Chronic Diseases Management (Enhanced Primary Care) programs.
Endorsed Mental Health Occupational Therapists have extensive experience in assessing and treating people who have mental health difficulties and disorders. Like other allied health professionals, such as Psychologists and Accredited Mental Health Social Workers, Endorsed Occupational Therapists use a range of interventions to help individuals and their families including the following focussed psychological strategies:
• Cognitive behavioural therapy
• Behavioural interventions
• Cognitive interventions
• Relaxation strategies
• Skills training
• Problem solving
• Anger management
• Social skills
• Stress management
• Parenting skills
• Psycho-education (including Motivational Interviewing)
Medicare rebates available with GP referral.

Occupational Therapy
At Untangled Therapy and Training in addition to our mental health services we offer a Developmental Occupational Therapy program. This includes assessment and interventions on a range of areas for children, adolescents and their families including:

Sensory processing; the ability to process information through the senses, organise and then respond appropriately, helping children feel safe in their bodies

Self-regulation; helping children and adolescents to be calm and alert so they can learn and listen

Psycho-social skills (including social skills, communication skills, self-esteem, confidence, motivation and problem solving skills)

Emotional skills (managing anxiety and low mood, learning about common triggers, understanding the link between thoughts, feelings and behaviour)
